A BIRTHDAY POEM: A VERY HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY HANNAH
Nineteen years ago today you came into our lives,And as so many of you know she was an extraordinary “surprise”.
Throughout the years you have matured into a bright and beautiful young lady,Who has undoubtedly conquered her role of being neither our eldest nor our baby.
For being the middle child takes a special kind of sole,
And you have truly validated that you were meant to play this role.
There is no denying just how easy-going and likable you are,
And I’m pretty sure your many friends would all agree by far.
I know that being the middle child can sometimes seem unfair,
But you seem to soar above it all with such ease and so much flair.
You’ve mastered the skill of peacemaker as you open your closet door,
And let your sister borrow your clothes, even the ones sprawled upon your bedroom floor.
You’ve acquired a keen eye for fashion and oh how you love to shop
Even if it’s to help your brother find the perfect top.
As you begin this final chapter today of these tangled up teen years,
I’m pretty sure it may include ordering your very first “legal” beer. (ok that’s the only one that rhymed)
Your dad and I couldn’t be more proud, of all you have succeeded in thus far,
And your generosity and kindness prove just how truly genuine you are.
And as you continue on your journey please hold these words near your heart with pride,
That as the middle child, you really are the luckiest one, to always have love on either side.
