Waiting to Exhale

It’s finally here, the moment we’ve all been counting down for weeks to arrive. But “just cuz” 2020 is now in our rear view mirror doesn’t mean that you were meant to wake up this morning and feel any different than you did yesterday.

Yes, today may signify a new chapter in your life, a blank canvas to paint whatever picture you want on it and yes 2021 is certainly looking more hopeful just knowing there is a vaccine on the horizon but it’s okay if you woke up this morning still feeling like your same imperfect self.

Don’t feel pressure to “resolve” your imperfections all at once “just cuz” a date on the calendar tells you that you should. Continue to take as much time as you need and do whatever it is you need to do to take care of yourself because there is no set amount of time or no date on any calendar that can tell you any differently.

Be kinder to yourself, be gentler to yourself and when you are ready and only when you yourself feel ready to embrace your imperfectly perfect self will it feel okay to exhale long enough to circle that date on your calendar and not “just cuz” someone else told you to.
